Small batch herbalism harvested on the farm. Our Flower Power tea includes: hibiscus, cornflowers, calendula, red clover and chrysanthemums.

Hibiscus is very high in vitamin C and bioflavonoids (which are most commonly known for their antioxidant activity). It has been shown to have mild diuretic and choleretic (stimulates bile production in the liver) effects, decreasing the viscosity of the blood, reducing blood pressure and stimulating intestinal peristalsis. The plant is also reported to be antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, and digestive. It is used as a folk remedy to treat cough, stop heavy post-partum bleeding, lower fever, hangover, and is often used as a tonic tea for digestive and kidney functions.
One of Hibiscus' most popular uses is to add a beautiful ruby-red color to tea blends. It has a delicious flavor (somewhat tart, with a slightly sweet aftertaste), and blends nicely with lots of other herbs.

Calendula ( Calendula officinalis) Calendula flower is a powerful vulnerary, healing wounds by promoting cell repair and growth. The flower is also a noted antiseptic and anti inflammatory, it can help keep infections at bay. The flowers mild astringent and antiseptic properties are helpful for treating gastrointestinal problems such as ulcers, cramps, indigestion and diarrhea. Calendula is one of the best herbs for nourishing & cleansing the lymphatic system.

Red Clover (Trifolium pratense) Red clover offers a rich bounty of nutrients that support the entire body. High in beta-carotene, calcium, vitamin C, a whole spectrum of B vitamins and essential trace minerals such as magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper and selenium. Red clover has a long history as a blood and lymphatic cleanser. Both the flowers and the leaf contain phytoestrogens and isoflavones that have a beneficial effect on menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings and night sweats. They appear to bind with estrogen receptor site, preventing less healthy forms of estrogen from accumulating.

Cornflower (centaurea cyanus) petals are taken as a bitter tonic and stimulant, improving  digestion and possibly supporting the liver as well as improving resistance to infection.
