Organic Vitamin C Loose Leaf Tea
Prix régulier $8.99
Small batch herbalism harvested on the farm. Our Vitamin C tea includes: Rosehips, raspberry leaf, hibiscus & orange peel.
Rosehips (Rosa canina) Rose hips provide a rich herbal source of vitamin C and flavonoids; they are considered to have antiscorbutic effects. The flavonoids synergize the effects of vitamin C. The vitamin C content enhances the integrity of connective tissue and reduces inflammation. The vitamin C and flavonoid content also support the immune system and counter the stress response.
Hibiscus is very high in vitamin C and bioflavonoids (which are most commonly known for their antioxidant activity). It has been shown to have mild diuretic and choleretic (stimulates bile production in the liver) effects, decreasing the viscosity of the blood, reducing blood pressure and stimulating intestinal peristalsis. The plant is also reported to be antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, and digestive. It is used as a folk remedy to treat cough, stop heavy post-partum bleeding, lower fever, hangover, and is often used as a tonic tea for digestive and kidney functions.
One of Hibiscus' most popular uses is to add a beautiful ruby-red color to tea blends. It has a delicious flavor (somewhat tart, with a slightly sweet aftertaste), and blends nicely with lots of other herbs.
Red Raspberry leaf (Rubus idaeus) One of Raspberry leaf’s shining qualities is its abundance of nutritive support. It is rich in vitamins and minerals including potassium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, iron, vitamins B, C, and E. It contains bioflavonoids that tone the circulatory system, tannins that remove harmful invaders from the body, antioxidants, and fragerine alkaloids that work with other constituents to tone and relax pelvic and uterine muscles.
Orange Peel has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. The taste and energetics of Orange Peel are acrid, bitter, aromatic, warming and astringent. Orange Peel has an affinity to the digestive system, respiratory system and nervous system. There are many more enzymes, flavonoids, and phyto-nutrients in the orange peel than in the fruit. The (organic) peel is where all of the essential components accumulate and they can be found in three main sections of the skin; the flavedo, the albedo and the bags of oil.
